The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Offa Local Government Area, Hon. Prince Moshood Kunle Adegboye, has debunked rumours circulating about the suspension of two members of the Kwara State House of Assembly representing Offa constituencies.
In an official disclaimer issued on Monday, Hon. Adegboye described the news of the suspension of Hon. Abdulwaheed Gbenga Yusuf JK (Essa/Shawo/Igboodun Constituency) and Hon. David Seun Ogunniyi Adato (Ojomu/Balogun Constituency) as “false, malicious, and unauthorized.”
He revealed that the action was allegedly carried out by faceless individuals who falsely used the name of the APC Offa LGA Chairman without any approval or official backing from the party leadership.
“We wish to state unequivocally that this action is unauthorized, baseless, and without our knowledge or approval,” the statement read.
The party leadership has commenced an investigation into the source of the misinformation and has vowed to take appropriate disciplinary steps against those found culpable.
Reiterating the party’s commitment to democratic values, Hon. Adegboye urged members of the public and APC supporters to disregard the fake news and always rely on verified information from official party communication channels.
“Our party remains committed to democratic principles, transparency, due process, and accountability,” he concluded.
