The 17th edition of the Headies Awards took place on Sunday in Lagos, celebrating excellence across Nigeria and Africa’s vibrant music scene.
Among the early honorees, Zerry DL won Rookie of the Year, while Davido was named Digital Artist of the Year. Rema clinched Afrobeats Album of the Year for his project HEIS, and Tems secured Best Recording of the Year for her hit track Burning.
Special Recognition Awards were presented to Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Alex Okosi, and Amaju Pinnick for their contributions to the industry.
In one of the night’s major highlights, Odumodublvck was named Next Rated Artist, triumphing over fellow nominees Shallipopi, Qing Madi, and Ayo Maff.
The Headies, considered Nigeria’s premier music awards, also announced that the 18th edition will take place later this year to make up for the ceremony’s absence in 2024.
