FHC Judges To Begin Two-Week Easter Vacation April 16

Judges of the Federal High Court (FHC) of Nigeria will commence a two-week Easter vacation starting April 16, 2025.

The announcement was made by the Chief Judge of the FHC, Justice John Tsoho, in a circular released to the media on Sunday by the court’s Director of Information, Dr. Catherine Christopher, in Abuja.

Justice Tsoho stated that while the vacation will conclude on April 28, court activities will formally resume on Tuesday, April 29, in all judicial divisions.

“This is pursuant to the provisions of Order 46, Rule 4 (C) of the Federal High Court (Civil Procedure) Rules, 2019 (as amended),” he noted.

During the break, the court’s Abuja, Lagos, and Port Harcourt divisions will remain open to handle urgent matters only.

“Only cases concerning the enforcement of fundamental rights, arrest or release of vessels, and those involving critical national interest will be entertained by vacation judges,” the Chief Judge added.
