The Cherubim and Seraphim Movement Church Worldwide has called for a united prayer effort to seek divine intervention for peace and stability in response to rising insecurity across the country.

This plea was made during a press conference held in Lagos on Tuesday, with church leaders urging Nigerians to join in prayers for the nation’s leaders and the welfare of citizens.

The call for prayer coincides with the announcement of the 56th Mount Horeb pilgrimage, scheduled to take place from May 4th to 11th, marking both the annual ascension and the church’s 56th anniversary.

Conference General Secretary, Prophet A.O. Samaye, revealed that the theme for this year’s program is “Double Glory.”

The event will feature a range of activities, including keynote addresses, workshops, seminars, spiritual fitness programs, games, a vigil, and the 2025 Ascension of Mount Horeb.

Speaking on the occasion, the spiritual father of C&S Worldwide, Prophet Emmanuel Alogbo, stressed the importance of the government prioritizing the welfare of the people.

“The government at all levels must focus on the welfare of the people by reducing the hardship they face,” he said.

He also called for civil organizations to support government efforts to tackle the persistent price hikes affecting millions of Nigerians, urging patience as new policies are implemented.

In addition, the spiritual leader addressed the nation’s security challenges, emphasizing that “without adequate security, there cannot be development.”

He urged the government to confront these security issues head-on and reiterated the need to revive all refineries across the country as a means of stabilizing fuel prices.

The call for prayer also focused on the importance of collective efforts to combat insecurity, with the cleric stating, “The rising tide of insecurity threatens not only our safety but also the very fabric of our society.”

He further urged church leaders to rally their congregations and all Nigerians to “pray without ceasing” for the nation’s peace and stability.

“The government should address the security challenges confronting the nation head-on. We must unite in faith and fervently seek God’s intervention. Our leaders play a pivotal role in steering the nation, and we must pray for their wisdom and guidance,” Alogbo added.

In line with their initiative, C&S Worldwide plans to organize community prayer walks and special services aimed at interceding for the nation.

“We believe that through prayer and action, we can bring about the change we desire and the protection we need,” the cleric concluded.
