Bayo Ojulari officially assumed office as the new Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO), succeeding Mr. Mele Kyari. The handover took place on Friday at a brief but significant ceremony held at the NNPC Towers, Abuja. In his inaugural remarks, Ojulari expressed profound appreciation for the contributions of his predecessor, describing Kyari’s tenure as one marked by transformation, integrity, and unwavering service to the nation. “We acknowledge the incredible strides Mr. Kyari made during his time, and it is now our duty to build upon that solid foundation. The targets ahead are ambitious, but with the support of the Management, staff, and the guidance of my predecessor, we are confident of taking NNPC Ltd to even greater heights,” Ojulari said. He added, “I will be counting on your support—I will need it. I will be coming around to seek your counsel.” In his farewell address, Mr. Kyari congratulated Ojulari and expressed optimism about the future of the company under his leadership. He thanked the Management and staff for their dedication throughout his tenure and pledged his full support to ensure a smooth transition. “I am only a phone call away,” Kyari assured, emphasizing his commitment to the continued success of NNPC Ltd. The leadership change marks a new chapter in the history of NNPC Ltd, as the company continues its evolution into a fully commercial entity in line with the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA) and Nigeria’s broader energy transition agenda.
