Mr. Lere Olayinka, Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has ridiculed House of Representatives member, Hon. Ikenga Imo Ugochinyere, accusing him of “crying over lost allowances from Rivers State.”
Olayinka advised Ugochinyere to “cry less and look for another victim to turn into a political ATM,” reacting to his recent criticisms of Wike and the ongoing political crisis in Rivers State.
He dismissed Ugochinyere’s claims about a so-called opposition group, challenging him to name the House of Representatives members allegedly involved in his “Yahoo Yahoo Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP).”
In a statement, Olayinka further alleged that Rivers State Governor, Sim Fubara, had fallen victim to Ugochinyere’s political maneuvers.
“As a political Hushpuppi, it’s no surprise that Ugochinyere is lamenting the dismantling of fraudulent local government structures created through his party, the Action Peoples Party (APP),” Olayinka said.
“We know how many billions of naira he siphoned through the illegal council chairmen he helped install, and now that source has been cut off—of course, he must cry.”
He also mocked Ugochinyere’s previous claims that Rivers State House of Assembly Speaker, Martins Amaewhule, would never have access to the state budget.
“He boasted that the Assembly members were gone for good, but today, reality has hit hard. Now, as Governor Sim Fubara, the real victim of Ugochinyere’s Yahoo Yahoo politics, faces political ghosts, the end of his free-flowing allowances is becoming clear. That’s why Ugochinyere was on live TV, wailing like a wounded goat.”
This exchange comes amid fresh political tensions in Rivers State following the Supreme Court ruling reinstating the Martins Amaewhule-led House of Assembly.
In response to the judgment, Fubara attempted to present the 2025 budget at the Assembly complex, but he was met with locked gates, escalating the crisis further.
