Senator Saliu Mustapha, representing Kwara Central, has purchased match tickets for the NPFL Matchday 31 fixture between Kwara United and Nasarawa United, ensuring that fans can watch the game for free.
The game will take place on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, at the Rashidi Yekini Main Bowl, George Innih Stadium, Ilorin, at 4 PM.
Confirming this development, Mallam Abdurasheed Olanrewaju Rocky, Special Adviser on Sports Development to the Senator, explained that the gesture is aimed at boosting fan morale and providing maximum support for the state-owned club.
“Senator Mustapha recognizes the critical role of supporters in motivating the team. Given the importance of this fixture, he has decided to purchase the tickets to allow fans to cheer Kwara United to victory,” Rocky said.
According to him, free match tickets will be available for collection at the stadium from 2pm on match day.
This is not the first time the Senator has sponsored an ‘open gate’ for the Kwara United games.
Senator Mustapha, who holds the traditional title of Turaki of Ilorin Emirate, has a history of supporting Kwara United. In 2022, he provided cash incentives to motivate the players during their NPFL and CAF Confederation Cup campaigns.
