
The Janazah (Islamic funeral) of Professor Rasheed Lawal Jimoh Ijaodola was held earlier today at his residence in the Gaa Olomi Funfun area of Offa, Kwara State.
The solemn ceremony took place at 2:00 PM and was led by the Chief Imam of Offaland, Fadeelat Sheikh (Dr.) Muhydeen Salmon Husayn.
The event was attended by prominent figures from Kwara State, including Hon. Abdulwahab Femi Agbaje Whyte, Adviser to the Kwara State Governor on Political Matters; Hon. Seun Ogunniyi Adato, Member of the Kwara State House of Assembly (Ojomu/Balogun Constituency); and Hon. Mustapha Olawale Sharafa (Sharon), Speaker of the Offa Local Government Council. Also in attendance were Alhaji Sulaiman Olatunji Laaro Omituntun, Chairman of Offa Local Government, alongside other councilors.
Other distinguished personalities present included Barrister Segun Olawoyin, the Chief Akinrogun of Offaland; Dr. David Binta Oloyede, the Pioneer Dean of the newly established School of Communication and Media Studies (SCMS) at The Federal Polytechnic, Offa; and Mr. Bammeke Muyideen, Head of the Social Sciences and Humanities Department at The Federal Polytechnic, Offa. Also in attendance was Mrs. Mujidat Bammeke Oladipo (Lenspoffa DSA), Mr. Oladipo Muideen Idowu, National Social Secretary of Offa Descendants Union (ODU), Mustapha Taiye Abdulbasit, National President of Offa Students Union (OSU), Abbas Toheeb Olasunkanmi, National PRO OSU, Law Students of Al-Hikmah University Ilorin, colleagues, family members and associates.
The funeral gathered a significant number of mourners who came to pay their last respects to Prof. Ijaodola, a respected scholar and esteemed figure in the academic community.
His passing is a profound loss to Offa and the entire Kwara State.
