Man In Police Net For Trafficking Nigerian Girls To Libya

The Kano State Command of the Nigeria Police Force has arrested a 20-year-old man for allegedly stabbing to death a security guard of Emir Muhammadu Sanusi II at the Eid prayer ground.

According to police reports, the suspect attacked the guard while he was on duty protecting the 16th Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, after the Eid prayers on Sunday. Another security officer sustained injuries and is currently receiving treatment at Murtala Muhammad Hospital in Kano.

The state police spokesperson, SP Abdullahi Kiyawa, confirmed the arrest and revealed that a palace official, ‘Shamakin Kano’ Wada Isyaku, has been invited for questioning as part of the ongoing investigation.

Kiyawa stated, “The police have launched an investigation into the incident and have invited the Kano Emirate’s Shamakin Kano, Alhaji Wada Isyaku, for questioning.”

The arrest comes just days after the police imposed a ban on the traditional Sallah procession in Kano amid the ongoing tussle for the Emir of Kano throne between Emir Sanusi II and Aminu Ado Bayero.
