The Oyo State Government has commenced bursary payments to indigene students studying Law, Medicine, and Aviation.
This was announced in a statement on Saturday in Ibadan by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Dr. Sulaimon Olanrewaju.
According to Olanrewaju, the bursary scheme also extends to final-year students of Oyo State origin in universities and polytechnics across Nigeria.
“A total of 2,950 beneficiaries were selected from nearly 3,000 applicants who met the required criteria,” he stated.
Among the beneficiaries, approximately 105 are medical and clinical students, while four are pursuing studies in maritime and aviation. The rest are final-year students in various universities and polytechnics.
Olanrewaju further revealed that the governor had approved N554.9 million for the bursary awards.
