The Tony Okocha-led All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State has called for Governor Siminalayi Fubara to either resign or face impeachment by the State House of Assembly.
Okocha issued the ultimatum during a press briefing in Port Harcourt on Monday, accusing the governor of poor management of the state.
He stated that Fubara now has only two options: resignation or impeachment.
Okocha claimed that under Fubara’s leadership, the state has descended into crisis and referenced a Supreme Court ruling that suggested there is no functional government in Rivers State. He cited multiple infractions by the governor, calling them grounds for impeachment.
Additionally, Okocha argued that Fubara has lost the authority to call Assembly members for discussions.
