The newly posted Commissioner of Police for Yobe State Command, CP Emmanuel Ado, reported for duty today, Thursday, March 27, at the State Police Headquarters in Damaturu.
He was accorded a guard of honour and subsequently conducted an inspection of the guard as part of the ceremony.
CP Ado, an indigene of Niger State, takes the reins as part of the recent deployment of 38 Commissioners of Police to various state commands and police formations across the country.
In his brief address, Ado emphasised the importance of addressing security challenges and prioritising personnel welfare to boost morale.
“We will remain focused, building on the achievements of my predecessor,” he stated.
Ado acknowledged the guidance of Inspector General of Police Kayode Egbetokun, who has stressed the need for community policing, transparency, and accountability.
Ado noted that in line with the IGP’s vision, his administration will prioritise trust-building with local communities, strengthening community policing initiatives, and ensuring officers are approachable, responsive, and committed to protecting human rights.
The Commissioner of Police also pledged to intensify efforts to combat crime and insecurity through intelligence-driven policing and collaboration with other security agencies.
“As your Commissioner of Police, I will lead by example, upholding the highest standards of integrity, professionalism, and respect for human rights,” he assured.
Ado concluded by urging personnel of the Yobe State Command to join him in this commitment, saying, “Together, we can make a positive impact and create a brighter future for our communities.”
