First female Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly.
Former Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mojisola Meranda, has been sworn in as the Deputy Speaker of the Assembly.
Her swearing-in followed her immediate nomination for the role.
Meranda had stepped down as Speaker amid the ongoing leadership crisis within the Assembly. However, tensions remain high as the removal of Speaker Obasa has deepened divisions within the Assembly and the state’s party leadership.
