Operatives of the Lagos Environmental Sanitation Corps (LAGESC), also known as KAI, arrested six individuals on Monday for illegally selling sachet alcohol and aphrodisiacs in traffic along the Iyana-Isolo-Ilasamaja axis of the state.

According to the Corps Marshal, Major Olaniyi Olatunbosun Cole (rtd), the crackdown aims to promote safer driving conditions and enhance commuter safety across Lagos.

In a statement, Cole revealed that the arrests followed multiple complaints from motorists about vendors selling sachet alcohol, liquor, and aphrodisiac drinks in traffic. He emphasized that such activities contribute to traffic accidents caused by drunk driving and disturbances from intoxicated passengers.

The arrested vendors were identified as Kemi Akeju (36), Bola Oladimeji (49), Monsurat Bakare (40), Tosin Olayiwola (38), Lateefat Bakare (45), and Stella Joseph (41).

The suspects have been charged to court for prosecution, and Cole reiterated that the authorities remain committed to eradicating the sale of alcohol in traffic to ensure public safety.
