The Office of the Special Adviser to the Executive Governor of Kwara State on Education, Policy Formulation, and Human Capital Development, in collaboration with the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), has extended invitations to different tertiary institutions in the state, for a sensitization programme aimed at empowering students through financial literacy and entrepreneurship.

Scheduled to take place on March 11, 2025, at the University of Ilorin, by 10 AM, the initiative seeks to create awareness about NELFUND’s financial products and services.

The programme is designed to enhance financial inclusion among students, equipping them with the necessary knowledge to access educational loans and utilize financial tools for entrepreneurial development.

Speaking on the initiative, Kwara SA Education, Dr. Adetola Salau emphasized the importance of financial education in fostering self-sufficiency among students.

She reiterated that the programme aligns with the government’s commitment to empowering young people with the necessary resources to achieve academic excellence and economic independence.

“With this partnership, the Kwara State Government aims to bridge financial gaps in education, ensuring that students from all backgrounds have access to funding opportunities that will enhance their academic pursuits and future career prospects.

“Students and stakeholders from different institutions are encouraged to participate actively in this engagement, as it presents a unique opportunity to gain insights into NELFUND’s offerings and explore avenues for financial empowerment,” she concluded.
