Governor Dikko Radda of Katsina State has lost his mother, Hajiya Safara’u, at the age of 93.
The Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Ibrahim Kaula Mohammed, announced her passing in a statement on Sunday. According to him, Hajiya Safara’u passed away on Saturday night and will be laid to rest at 4:00 p.m. in Radda Village, Katsina State.
Describing her as a woman of remarkable strength and dignity, Mohammed noted that Hajiya Safara’u played a vital role in nurturing generations of leaders and community figures. She was not only the mother of Governor Radda but also the mother of the current Village Head of Radda, Alhaji Kabir Umaru Radda, and Hajiya Hauwa Umaru Radda, former wife of the late President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua.
“A true Fulani matriarch, Hajiya Safara’u leaves behind a legacy of integrity, perseverance, and community service that will continue to inspire those who knew her,” the statement added.
The governor’s office extended its deepest condolences and prayed for Allah to grant her eternal peace in Jannatul Firdaus.
