The Kano State Police Command has arrested two operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) for allegedly shooting a 19-year-old woman, Patient Samuel, in Jaba Quarters.

According to reports, the operatives were apprehended on March 5 at around 10:55 p.m. following the incident. Samuel was rushed to a nearby hospital but was later pronounced dead by the attending doctor.

The motive behind the shooting remains unclear as police continue their investigation. The arrested suspects, identified as Nass Ridwan Usman, 23, and Ismaila Yakubu, 26, are both attached to the NDLEA’s Kano State Headquarters.

Recovered from them were their operational motorcycle, one live round of ammunition, four spent shells of 7.62×51mm ammunition, and two knives.

Authorities have launched a full investigation to determine the circumstances of the shooting, after which the suspects will face prosecution.
