U.S. Vice President JD Vance has warned that European nations are at risk of what he calls “civilizational suicide.”
In a recent interview with Fox News, Vance argued that many European countries are failing to secure their borders while also restricting free speech.
“Europe is at risk, I think, of engaging in civilizational suicide,” he stated. “Too many countries are either unable or unwilling to control their borders.”
However, Vance acknowledged a shift in some nations, saying, “You see them starting to push back against that, and that is a good thing.”
He also criticized restrictions on free speech, particularly regarding protests over immigration policies. “You see them limiting the free speech of their own citizens, even as those citizens protest against things like the border invasion,” he said.
According to Vance, this rising public dissatisfaction has played a key role in the election of leaders such as Donald Trump and various European politicians.
