The Governor of Edo State, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has paid a condolence visit to the Kano State Government House following the tragic killing of 16 hunters from the state in Uromi, Edo State.
Arriving in Kano on Monday, Governor Okpebholo met with Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf and other top government officials to express his deep sorrow over the unfortunate incident.
He described the mob action that led to the killings as a grave and unacceptable act, reiterating his administration’s commitment to ensuring justice for the victims.
The attack, which occurred on March 28 in Uromi, saw a mob lynch the 16 victims, mistaking them for criminals.
The killings have sparked nationwide condemnation, with many calling for stricter measures against jungle justice.
The visit comes amid ongoing investigations and arrests by the Edo State Police Command, which has already detained multiple suspects connected to the killings.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu had earlier condemned the act and directed security agencies to ensure justice is served.
