Lande and Baba Tee

The controversy surrounding Yoruba actor Babatunde Tayo, aka Baba Tee, and comedian Ganiyu Morufu, aka Lande, has taken another dramatic turn, making the situation even more chaotic.

After strongly denying allegations of an affair with Lande’s wife, Dara, Baba Tee has now made a shocking confession—admitting to a “short” sexual encounter with her.

His admission contradicts his earlier stance, where he challenged Lande to provide evidence or risk facing a defamation lawsuit. However, during a live interview with socialite Esabod and TikTokers on Sunday, Baba Tee retracted his denial, claiming he was tricked into the act.

According to him, the affair happened under the influence of alcohol during a “Truth or Dare” game with Dara and actress Marygold at his home.

“Marygold and Dara came to my house. Marigold said she wanted me to be the MC for her upcoming program but didn’t tell me she was bringing anyone. She introduced Dara as a content creator, not as Lande’s wife,” Baba Tee explained.

He further alleged that the game took an unexpected turn when Marygold dared Dara to have “quick” intercourse with him.

“Rather than throwing ‘Truth’ questions at me, they kept hurling ‘Dare.’ Marygold dared Dara to let me have a short sexual encounter with her, and she agreed. I only realized later that it was a setup to tarnish my image,” he claimed.

Baba Tee’s confession has intensified the controversy, raising questions about his initial denial and claims of being manipulated into the affair.

His admission adds another twist to the already messy marital crisis between Lande and Dara. In a previous interview, Lande had accused his wife of infidelity with at least 21 men in the entertainment industry, including Baba Tee.

“I know of at least 21 people in the industry who have slept with my wife. Baba Tee is one of them,” Lande alleged.

While many initially doubted Lande’s claims, Baba Tee’s latest admission has lent credibility to the accusations, leaving the public wondering how many more names might emerge.

The unfolding drama has also revived memories of Lande’s mysterious disappearance. Sometime ago, he vanished for two weeks, sparking fears for his safety, only to resurface with a shocking claim:

“I was kidnapped.”

However, later findings suggested that Lande had staged his disappearance, unable to cope with the emotional turmoil of his crumbling marriage.

Following Baba Tee’s confession, Esabod advised him to publicly apologize to Lande for the betrayal, especially since he had initially threatened legal action. Baba Tee complied, issuing an apology via Facebook:

“I am deeply sorry from the bottom of my heart, brother Lande. Deep how Dara became Lande’s wife without my knowledge… Hmmm. I fear women.”

With this latest twist, the scandal continues to unravel, leaving fans and observers wondering what will happen next in this high-profile Nollywood drama.
