On Sunday, President Donald Trump announced that Dan Bongino, a conservative talk show host, will serve as the deputy director of the FBI.
In a post on his Truth Social account, Trump stated that Bongino will join Kash Patel, who was recently confirmed by the Senate as the FBI director. Trump noted that Bongino’s appointment does not require Senate confirmation.
The president praised Bongino as a man with immense passion and love for the country, declaring, “Great news for Law Enforcement and American Justice!”
Bongino, a former New York City police officer and member of the U.S. Secret Service, has gained recognition as a conservative radio host and podcaster. According to Trump, Bongino plans to set aside his media career to take on this new role.
