The Senator representing Kwara Central, Saliu Mustapha, has announced Friday, February 28, 2025, as the date for the much awaited empowerment programme aimed at supporting beneficiaries who have undergone various training sessions facilitated by his office.
Mustapha’s Aide, Barrister Alabi Abdulkareem, disclosed this while featuring on an Ilorin-based radio station, Sobi FM on Tuesday.
According to Abdulkareem, the initiative is designed to equip trained individuals with the necessary tools and resources to establish themselves.
“This programme is targeted mainly at beneficiaries who have acquired different skills through various training sessions facilitated by Senator Saliu Mustapha. It is not just about distributing items but about ensuring these individuals can sustain themselves and contribute meaningfully to society,” he said.
Abdulkareem also linked the initiative to the agricultural transformation agenda of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s administration, adding that the senator’s intervention complements the state government’s efforts.
“Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has placed emphasis on agriculture and skills development as key pillars of economic growth. As Chairman of the Senate Committee on Agriculture and Rural Development, Senator Mustapha is playing his part in reinforcing these efforts through direct interventions,” he added.
Abdulkareem further revealed that Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq is expected to grace the occasion as the Special Guest of Honour. The event is also expected to attract top government officials, party leaders, and key stakeholders in from within and outside of Kwara State.
