The Al-Ulamau Solidarity Group for Accountability and Transparency (ASGAT), Offa Local Government Zone, organized its 1446AH/2025 Pre-Ramadan Lectures and Special Prayers for the Nation at the Offa Descendants’ Union National Secretariat, Olofa Way, Offa, Kwara State.
With the theme “Better Days Ahead,” the event attracted notable Islamic scholars, political figures, and community leaders who gathered to discuss the role of Islamic governance in national development while seeking divine intervention for Offa, Kwara State, and Nigeria as a whole.
The programme was held on 23rd of February, 2025 and graced by distinguished personalities.
Imam Salmon Shubuliy Amofin Agba, The Chief Imam of Musulumi Nfe Alafia Central Mosque, Offa, delivered a lecture emphasizing the significance of Islamic principles in governance and nation-building.
Hon. Adebisi Muhammed and Hon. Sikirullahi Oluwe, represented the political leadership at the event.
The Offa Local Government Legislative Council, led by the Majority Leader, Hon. Isiaq Yunus Olohun-Ni, attended alongside other councillors.
The Chief Host, Sheikh Abdullahi Mustapha Gbagba (Dr. Basmallah), led a heartfelt special prayer session for the peace, stability, and prosperity of Offa, Kwara State, and Nigeria at large.
In his address, he called on political leaders to recognize and support ASGAT in its mission to promote accountability, transparency, and spiritual guidance in governance.
The National Coordinator of ASGAT, Mallam Abdullateef Agboola, expressed profound gratitude to the attendees, including spiritual and political leaders, for their unwavering support.
He reaffirmed ASGAT’s commitment to fostering unity and national progress through faith-based engagements.
As part of ASGAT’s broader vision, he announced that more state chapters of the group will hold similar prayer sessions across the country during the Holy Month of Ramadan.
“The betterment of our nation is our collective responsibility,” Agboola stated, urging Nigerians to uphold values of accountability, good governance, and communal harmony.
The Pre-Ramadan Lecture and Prayer Session reinforced the importance of faith in governance and set a spiritual tone for the forthcoming fasting period, reinforcing hope for “Better Days Ahead.”
