The Osun State Government has issued a warning against the alleged invasion of Primary Healthcare Centres (PHCs) by ‘sacked’ local council executives.
In a statement released yesterday, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Public Health, Dr. Adekunle Akindele, accused a former council chairman, affiliated with the All Progressives Congress (APC), of unlawfully entering multiple PHCs in Ilesa Local Government under the guise of a working visit.
According to Akindele, the former chairman forcefully visited Okeoye PHC (Ward 8), Irojo PHC (Ward 9), Okesa PHC (Ward 7), Ilemo PHC (Ward 4), and Ijamo PHC (Ward 5), an action he described as an illegal incursion.
He condemned the visit as unlawful and an attempt to intimidate healthcare workers while disrupting essential medical services. He further advised PHC staff to refrain from engaging with unauthorized visitors.
