The Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA), Mr. Bola Oyebamiji, has raised concerns about the poor condition of public schools in Osun State.
Oyebamiji expressed his worry and called on the Osun State government to prioritize education and address the issue of the growing number of out-of-school children in the state.
Speaking during the commissioning of six new classrooms in Oba-Oke, located in the Olorunda local government area of Osun State, on Saturday, he reassured the community that the Federal Government, with support from the Marine Minister, Adegboyega Oyetola, had contributed to the area’s development.
“Under President Bola Tinubu’s administration, this six-classroom block is part of our commitment to the community,” he said. “I urge the Osun State government to establish both primary and secondary schools in this area. Additionally, it’s crucial to improve other infrastructure, such as roads and water supply, for the well-being of the people.”
