Omowunmi Aloba, the widow of late Nigerian music artist Mohbad, has broken her silence, claiming that both her life and that of her one-year-old son, Liam, are in danger.
In a recent interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo, she revealed that she receives death threats almost daily through direct messages.
Aloba further alleged that she was attacked by Naira Marley—her late husband’s former employer—and his associates. Adding to her distress, she accused her father-in-law, Joseph Aloba, of attempting to seize control of Mohbad’s properties.
“We no longer feel safe. I literally get death threats almost every day in my DMs. It has gotten to the point where I must speak up or risk dying in silence,” she said.
She continued, “I have been attacked by Naira Marley and his cohorts. My father-in-law wants to control Mohbad’s properties and will stop at nothing to destroy my life. The same man who officiated my marriage now calls our son a bastard. He claimed that Liam has bow legs, said he looks older than him despite being almost 60, and even went as far as alleging that my husband once wanted to throw my baby into the Third Mainland Bridge.”
Mohbad died under suspicious circumstances in September 2023 after departing from Naira Marley’s Marlian Music record label.
His controversial death has sparked widespread debate, with some placing the blame on Naira Marley and his associate, Sam Larry, who was seen in a viral video assaulting the late singer prior to his demise.
