The Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mojisola Meranda, has resigned from her position after just 38 days in office.
Her resignation comes two days after members of the House passed a vote of confidence in her leadership.
The Lagos State Assembly has faced political tension since the impeachment of former Speaker Mudashiru Obasa.
A statement confirming Meranda’s resignation was issued on Wednesday, though no official reason was provided.
