A leading pro-democracy group in Kwara South, Kwara South Youth Congress has praised Ifelodun LG stakeholders who recently recommended that the proposed Smart City be changed from Ilorin Smart City to Kwara Smart City, citing the fact that it’s a property of Kwara and because the project will be situated on Ifelodun land.
In a statement issued by the group spokesperson, Bashir Adejare, he noted that it’s a very important project that must be embraced; however, it’s a Kwara project; hence, it should bear Kwara and not Ilorin to harmonize the unity enjoyed in Kwara.
” Senator Mankajuola Ajadi, Hon Femi Yusuf, AGF Abdulrasaq, and other stakeholders present at the meeting have done well; they have prioritized community interest over party, and they have Eglin demonstrated the true trait of an average ignominy man,” Bashir said.
At this juncture, it is crucial to engage in thoughtful discourse with the government regarding the proposed project. The outright dismissal of this initiative by certain factions within Kwara South is both unwarranted and counterproductive. This project has the potential to significantly enhance and elevate the socioeconomic landscape of Kwara South, provided it aligns with the broader interests of the state. We remain committed to advocating for fairness and justice on issues that are vital to the everyday lives of the residents of Kwara South. In conclusion, Bashir emphasized the importance of this endeavor in fostering progress for the community.
