The Jigawa State Government has committed over N132 million to establish a training center in Dutse for converting vehicles from petrol to Compressed Natural Gas (CNG).
Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Power and Energy, Engineer Musa Al’assan Arobade, revealed this at the opening of a “Train-the-Trainers” workshop on CNG vehicle conversion, held at the ministry’s conference hall.
He also announced plans to award contracts for converting 25 vehicles to CNG as part of the government’s push for cleaner energy sources. Additionally, the state will sponsor the training of 20 individuals in vehicle conversion techniques.
Al’assan stated that trainees will be selected from the Ministry of Power and Energy and the Jigawa State chapter of the Association of Automobile Technicians. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to enhancing energy security, reducing fossil fuel dependence, and fostering economic growth through renewable energy solutions.
