The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Lagos State Command, said it arrested 71 suspects for various alleged offences in 2024.

NSCDC’s Commandant in the state, Mr Adedotun Keshinro, disclosed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria on Thursday in Lagos.

The commandant told NAN that among the suspects, 21 were involved in oil theft, one in illegal mining, and 49 in other offences.

He stated that incidents of vandalism and other crimes significantly declined in 2024 due to the operational strategies adopted by the command.

According to him, the command’s harmonious working relationship with other security agencies and local communities played a key role in achieving this success.

Keshinro assured residents of the state of the command’s commitment to partnering with them and other corporate entities for the effective discharge of its mandate.

Keshinro stated that the command recorded two convictions, charged seven cases to court, and secured a total of seven convictions and two judgments.

He stated that incidents of vandalism and other crimes significantly declined in 2024 due to the operational strategies adopted by the command.

According to him, the command’s harmonious working relationship with other security agencies and local communities played a key role in achieving this success.
