Three people were injured in a multi-vehicle crash on Tuesday night involving a trailer, a Toyota Camry, and a Lexus car on the Lagos-Badagry Expressway.
William Manga, the Unit Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), confirmed the incident in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Badagry.
Manga stated that the accident occurred around 11:36 p.m. near the Agbo-Malu area in Age-mowo. He added that FRSC personnel were notified at approximately 11:42 p.m. and arrived at the scene by 11:52 p.m., 10 minutes after the alert.
The crash involved a Renault trailer (registration number BK 672 RB) traveling from Badagry, a Toyota Camry (registration number JJJ 574 JP), and a Lexus car, which did not have a number plate. A total of five people were involved, with three sustaining varying degrees of injury.
The injured were transported to the Lagos State Mobile Clinic for medical attention.
Manga attributed the cause of the accident to a loss of control and driver inattention. He also confirmed that the vehicles were cleared from the expressway.
The unit commander urged passengers to remind drivers to avoid speeding and encouraged motorists to be mindful of their speed, especially on the narrow, one-lane expressway.
