German police arrested three Chinese nationals on Wednesday on suspicion of smuggling prostitutes. The arrests followed extensive raids involving 150 officers at a brothel, residential properties, and businesses across Hesse and Baden-Württemberg.

According to the public prosecutor’s office, the suspects—two women and one man, aged 29, 49, and 61—were detained in Wiesbaden and are also facing tax evasion charges.

Authorities suspect that between February 2020 and December 2024, the trio employed and housed numerous Chinese women as prostitutes despite their lack of legal residence permits for work in Germany.

Investigations suggest the 61-year-old and 29-year-old jointly operated the brothel, while the 49-year-old allegedly assisted in recruiting clients, according to NAN reports.
