Renowned socialite and businesswoman, Chief (Mrs.) Khadijah Adebisi Edionseri, popularly known as “Cash Madam,” has passed away at the age of 89.
The Nation reports that the octogenarian, who held the title of Iya Sunnah of Egbaland, Yewaland, and Ogun State, died on Sunday following a brief illness.
In a statement released by one of her children, Dr. Adebayo Adebowale, the family expressed their profound gratitude to Allah for a life well-lived.
“With deep gratitude to Allah for a life well-lived, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Princess Kadijat Abike Adebisi Edionseri (née Elegbede), who returned to her Creator on 5th January 2025 at the age of 89, following a brief illness,” the statement read.
Dr. Adebowale described her as a symbol of grace, dignity, and faith whose impact on both her family and the community will remain everlasting.
“Her life was a shining example of grace, dignity, and unwavering faith. Princess Edionseri touched the lives of many through her wisdom, kindness, and dedication to both her family and the community,” he added.
