In the early hours of Wednesday, Russia launched a drone strike on Kyiv, the Ukrainian capital, injuring at least three people and damaging buildings in two districts.

City officials reported that explosions echoed through the morning sky shortly after Ukraine’s air force issued a warning about approaching drones.

Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko stated that air defenses were actively repelling the attack. He confirmed that two floors of a residential building had been partially destroyed, while debris from the strike also damaged a non-residential structure in another neighborhood.

This attack is part of Russia’s ongoing air strikes on Ukrainian cities, targeting areas far from the front lines of its nearly three-year-long invasion.
