The Kano State Police Command has reaffirmed its commitment to combating corruption within its ranks and urged citizens to report any cases of extortion involving constabulary personnel.
Speaking at the command’s headquarters in Bompai, Kano, the command’s spokesperson, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, addressed growing concerns over alleged misconduct by a constabulary officer, Ado Abba, who was accused of extorting money from the public.
Kiyawa stated that Commissioner of Police Salman Dogo Garba has implemented measures to identify and remove corrupt elements from the force. As a result, Ado Abba was dismissed following multiple reports of extortion from the public.
The police urged residents to report any constabulary officers involved in extortion to ensure appropriate action is taken.
