Residents of Lafiagi in Edu Local Government Area have called on Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, the Governor of Kwara State and Chairman of Nigeria Governors Forum (NGF) to urgently address the town’s critical infrastructure deficits, particularly in water supply, electricity, and road networks.
The appeal comes amid growing frustrations over the lack of basic amenities, which have significantly impacted the daily lives of residents and hindered economic activities in the area.
Community leaders and concerned residents highlighted the dire state of Lafiagi’s roads, many of which have become impassable, making transportation difficult for farmers, traders, and commuters. Additionally, erratic power supply and a lack of potable water have further compounded the challenges faced by the people.
“This is not just an appeal; it is an urgent cry for help. The roads are deteriorating, businesses are suffering due to poor electricity, and access to clean water remains a daily struggle,” said a community elder.
Residents are urging Governor AbdulRazaq and relevant government agencies to prioritize the provision of these essential services, emphasizing that improved infrastructure will enhance economic growth, healthcare delivery, and overall living conditions in the town.
They also called on elected representatives and stakeholders from the area to work towards securing government intervention to alleviate their suffering.
As the state government continues its developmental agenda, Lafiagi residents remain hopeful that their voices will be heard and that swift action will be taken to address their pressing needs.
