The reigning Arewa Offa 2024, Ms. Mustapha Amidat Oluwaferanmi, has launched a new initiative titled “Arewa Half Hour with Students”, aimed at educating and inspiring young girls in secondary schools across Offa.

The programme, which focuses on “Empowering the Girl Child: Breaking Barriers & Unlocking Potentials” and Personal Hygiene, seeks to equip young girls with the knowledge and confidence needed to overcome societal challenges and achieve academic excellence.

The maiden school visit took place at Adeola College, where Ms. Mustapha Amidat was warmly received by the school’s principal, Mr. Paul Olawale, along with members of the teaching staff.

She engaged with students in an interactive session, discussing personal growth, self-confidence, and the importance of education.

In her address, Ms. Mustapha Amidat emphasized the role of young girls in shaping their futures.

She spoke on the importance of education, self-respect, and resilience, urging the students to stay focused and determined.

“Since winning the Arewa Offa 2024 crown at the Ijakadi Festival, I have felt a deep responsibility to serve as an ambassador for my family and the Offa community. As young girls, we must be cautious and future-oriented. The mistakes that may be overlooked for boys can have serious consequences for us. Society holds us to a higher standard, and we must rise to that challenge.”

She shared the inspiring story of Fatima Azumi, who recently emerged as the overall best candidate in the ICAN examination and graduated with first-class honors in accounting from Igbinedion University, urging the students to believe in their potential.

She also advised students to develop effective study habits, set realistic goals, seek help when needed, stay organized, and prioritize their mental and physical well-being.

Following the success of her visit to Adeola College, Ms. Mustapha Amidat is set to extend the program to other selected schools, including: Offa Grammar School, Moremi High School, Okin High School, Olalomi Comprehensive High School, Community Secondary School among others.

Her initiative, Arewa Half Hour with Students, aims to leave a lasting impact by fostering self-awareness, academic excellence, and personal hygiene among young girls in Offa.
