As the February 22, 2025, Osun local government elections approach, leaders, members, and supporters of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ifedayo have kick-started their campaign.

The campaign began at Idi Odan in Ifedayo Local Government, where people trooped out in large numbers to support the chairmanship candidate, Hon. Kayode Atolagbe; the vice-chairmanship candidate, Hon. Kayode Ajiboye; and all the councillorship candidates from Ward One to Ward Ten.

The people were joyous and expressed happiness with the administration of Governor Ademola Adeleke, who is performing beyond expectations.

In their separate remarks, leaders from the local government took time to explain why people must come out en masse to cast their votes for PDP candidates.

The party chairman, Hon. Adeyemi Oyinlola (Adex), eulogized party leaders at both the state and local government levels, noting that the unprecedented development Osun is witnessing today—courtesy of Governor Ademola Adeleke—remains an illusion for the opposition APC in the state.

He called on the electorate to vote for PDP candidates and urged them not to waste their votes. “Unfortunately, APC has lost its way in Ifedayo Local Government because they don’t have candidates.”

The PDP chairmanship candidate, Hon. Kayode Atolagbe, appreciated the leaders and members of the party for their continuous support and prayed that God would not let them down in their endeavors. He promised not to disappoint the party and the people of Ifedayo Local Government.

“I want to assure our people that I won’t disappoint them. The vice chairman, councillors, and I will do everything humanly possible to deliver the dividends of democracy to our people.

“Our administration will follow the template used by our performing governor, Asiwaju Ademola Adeleke, to ensure that our people enjoy a better quality of life. APC has destroyed the local government, but thanks to the governor, life has now been restored at the grassroots through many projects.”

In their separate remarks, local government leaders, including Alhaji Yisa Adebayo, Alhaji Ismail Adeyemi, Elder Lekan Osundina, and Alhaji Tunji Awotayo, urged people to continue supporting Governor Ademola Adeleke’s administration.

They asked people to disregard whatever the APC candidate is saying about the election. “Their party has lost credibility; nobody is listening to them anymore.

“Just yesterday, OSSIEC published the names of the successful candidates for the forthcoming local government elections. In Ifedayo, PDP candidates have no opposition as far as the offices of chairman and vice chairman are concerned.”

Among those who attended the rally were Hon. Yemi Adeoti, Alhaja Taibat Abikoye, Hon. Isiaka Olajide, Alhaji Fatai Ayorinde, Alhaji Gani Lawal, Hon. Olu Ibitoye, Hon. Oluwaseyi Adeniyi, Hon. (Mrs.) Adeoti Adesola Ronke, Hon. (Mrs.) Adebisi Hannah Foluke, and Hon. Ayobami Adeyeye, among others.
