During the course of my appointment, I have been able to identify that envy and a zero-sum mentality have severed more ties while those who are not privileged to serve in the political sphere have become moral police on what the future holds for their fellow youths presently in public office. Perhaps, these individuals don’t know that their dislike or hate for someone can’t stop the Almighty God from blessing him.
Zero-sum mentality, the belief that success, especially economic success, is possible only at the expense of other people’s failures, has built a mansion in the hearts of many youths of Kwara. May God help our clerics as they continue to preach against it and the spirit of entitlement.
I understand that Governor Abdulrahman AbdulRazaq, CON has appointed some of us whom you never thought would be great in life given our poor and humble background. We didn’t see it coming too, Kadara ni. Stop trying to pull us down over a destiny we don’t have power over. Some of you even created WhatsApp groups under an oath that certain youths appointed by the Governor must not be added, has that stopped those youths from being on the decision table? The answer is NO! Ilara, that isn’t worth it. Some destinies are bigger than any conspiracy, it will even consume the conspirators.
I just saw a publication on Sahara Reporter against a youth in Kwara courtesy of one of our egbons who is unnecessarily bitter over one of his Aburos’ shining light, Solace is used to things like this, I have been accused wrongly over things I don’t have powers over. In the last few days I have seen and received calls over a certain wrong allegation made by some individuals against me but I no longer care because I am yet to see one person who has done injustice or blackmail others at any decision table, whether within or outside the country. They’re, at best, WhatsApp admins. The publication further confirms why I have always maintained no emotional attachment or fake friend status with most of the so-called youths, irrespective of past relationships because we don’t love ourselves; we conspire against ourselves instead. So, why would I say because I know you or we are all youths, we should consider the future when you’re conspiring against me? Did you also not consider the future, or is the future only for those who have an affiliation with the government in power?
I have decided to do what I think is right today and allow God to handle the future. Only God knows who will die first between a Doctor and his patient. My experiences with most youths, especially during the days of my humble beginning and during my appointment in Governor AbdulRazaq’s first term, have made me a MAN at a very early age. I have said it times without number, any youth of my age in Kwara who has touched more lives than Solace should come out. The only problem the so-called munafiq youths have with Solace is that he is too loyal to Governor AbdulRazaq but none of you have been able to achieve what Governor AbdulRazaq made me and most of us achieved even when your principals were in and left power unceremoniously. The good thing is that Governor AbdulRazaq does his things without blowing his trumpet or making us exchange our dignity for it. We still have our pride as humans intact to date.
I’m glad that most of you who have become conspirators and blind critics are far older than the youths in government and have never had the privilege that we all are presently enjoying through appointments and the privilege to serve in different capacities. Bad Belle can’t stop what God has destined for everyone. My only worry is that we have taken this politics to the extent where our children will bear the consequences of our avoidable disagreements and annoying evil plans against each other.
We call ourselves youths but don’t even care about the health of the youth sphere because one desperate lawmaker has paid you to run a hatchet job errand for him. Even the hatchet job you don’t even know how to execute it. By the time your unprofessional execution of it backfires, and the financial atrocities of this lawmaker are exposed, the Temple Run will be a joke. Interestingly, some of the aspirants are young enough to be the younger brothers of those running the hatchet jobs but destiny is difficult to fight. For now, enjoy the comedy.
Most of you running the hatchet job errand are older than the youths you are paid to blackmail. Have you ever seen anyone pay to blackmail people without any value given to certain privileges? Never, even the person who gave you the assignment will not get into power and trust you. You’re not different from the “good boys”, yours is with an addition of education christened “Educated Good Boys” operating using data. How many “good boys” did you see again today? How long are we going to see the “educated good boys”? Time will tell. The 2027 election will end the cycle because you all just need your doubts to be cleared that you don’t matter in the scheme of things to find your bearings. Those who matter are building their capacity and are seeing you all as those who don’t matter but are using social media opinions to cover their low self-esteem. Do you have a vote within your family? Does your opinion count? State starts from family. Nobody would be proud to have a Facebook or WhatsApp admin who can’t take responsibility for the home as an Olori ebi. Let’s not waste the little time left before some of you clock 50. So that you won’t spend your 50s angry that the youths you are blackmailing haven’t stopped glowing. High Blood Pressure can come from depression over a life God is interested in which you are busy conspiring against.
Moreover, a lot of you have a blurry identity of not being loyal to anything. That’s why there are some relationships most of the state’s gladiators can’t establish with you. Some questions that can help our retrospection: Are you loyal? What drives your loyalty? What are your past antecedents? What value do you possess? Who are you? If you limit the answer to politics or political affiliation then you’re not yet ready for personal evaluation and growth.
I have laughed so many times when I see some online news platforms derailing from their goals because they do not understand the business side of media. Some platforms were once the most visited event and lifestyle media platforms in Kwara but used politics to demarket themselves. When I check some platforms on social media I noticed the rush for engagement when it comes to events and lifestyle but grave silence when it comes to politics. It brings me to the question that I have always wanted to ask Kwara youths as I prepare myself for a future in the academic and business world: Must our lives centre around politics and political patronage? Who would you be if there were no politics?
On a final note, who would you blame in the next 20 years if the only thing attached to your name is a hatchet job for youths against youths? Think about it.
