The Offa Descendants Union National Headquarters, under the able leadership of Alh Muhideen Olaniyi Azeez Salako, paid a courtesy visit to His Royal Majesty Oba Adesoye Adebowale Jimoh Adetona I, Elerin of Erin-Ile on the 31st December, 2024.
The visit aimed to express gratitude for the delegation sent by the Elerin of Erin-Ile during the recent celebrations of the 2024 Ijakadi Annual Festival.
The delegates received a warm welcome from Oba Adesoye Jimoh, joined by Engr. Kolapo Usman, the National President of the Erin-Ile Descendants Union (EPU), and other distinguished chiefs from the royal palace.
The visitation provided a platform for both communities to engage in fruitful discussions centred around re-establishing and nurturing the historically rich relationship between the two communities.
Throughout their discussions, both parties underscored the critical importance of cultivating peaceful and collaborative relations, which are essential for promoting economic, social, and political progress within Ibololand in Kwara State.
A significant outcome of the meeting was the mutual understanding regarding land disputes between the communities. Both parties concurred that any land issues should be addressed directly by the involved individuals or families through legal channels, rather than escalating these issues to the broader community.
The ODU delegation included Global President Alhaji Muhideen Olaniyi Azeez Salako, Vice President I Alhaji Tajuden Ibilola Bello, ODU Home Branch Chairman and Otun Akonni of Offa Kingdom Alhaji Chief Lanre Shittu, and ODU National Social Secretary Mr. Idowu Muhideen Oladipo (IMO).
Chief Mrs. Wosilatu McCarthy, Bobaselu of Offa Kingdom, conveyed a message on behalf of the Olofa of Offa and the Chairman of the Offa LG Traditional Council.
