The Muhydeen Okunlola Kayode (MOK) Movement has continued its grassroots economic empowerment programme, reaching more traders at Owode Market in Offa Local Government Area.
The latest phase of the initiative took place on Saturday, January 25, 2025, benefiting small business owners in Alata (pepper sellers), Elelubo, and Isale Oja sections of the market.
A total of 20 traders received financial support of ₦20,000 each, aimed at boosting their businesses and enhancing their financial stability.
The event, moderated by Mr. Tajudeen Oyeyemi, further reinforces the Foundation’s commitment to fostering economic growth at the community level.
This intervention follows previous rounds of empowerment at Owode Market, including the January 17, 2025, event, where 320 traders received similar financial assistance.
Since its inception in November 2023, the MOK Movement has consistently worked towards supporting 5,000 business owners across Offa and Oyun Local Government Areas.
The initiative is part of a broader vision to uplift 2,000 small-scale traders within the region by providing capital for business expansion and sustainability.
Beneficiaries of the latest disbursement expressed deep gratitude to the MOK Foundation, acknowledging the positive impact of the support on their businesses. Many noted that the funds would enable them to restock essential goods and improve their trade capacity.
With its ongoing interventions, the MOK Movement continues to set a benchmark for sustainable economic empowerment in Kwara State, demonstrating that targeted financial aid can drive local development and reduce poverty.
As the programme progresses, expectations remain high for even more impactful initiatives that will strengthen the region’s economic landscape.
