In a tragic incident in the Ogwanja area of Sapele, Delta State, an unidentified man was fatally stabbed by another individual on New Year’s Day. Reports indicate that the confrontation stemmed from an argument over rice that escalated into a physical altercation.
Witnesses say that the deceased engaged in a dispute with another man, leading to a violent clash. The alleged attacker, whose identity remains undisclosed by local residents, reportedly grabbed a bottle and inflicted multiple stab wounds on the victim.
The injured man bled heavily until members of the vigilante group intervened and rushed him to the hospital, where they ultimately left his body. The deceased has since been taken to a mortuary.
As of now, the vigilante group has not revealed the names of either the suspect or the victim. Additionally, Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, has not responded to calls or messages seeking confirmation of the incident.
