
On Monday, Isin Local Government Executive Chairman, Honorable Benjamin Lanre Jolayemi, convened an important meeting with the Isin Traditional Council in his office. The primary agenda was to address the ongoing controversy surrounding the conferment of the “Agbaakin of Isin Land” on Senator Salihu Mustapha by His Royal Majesty, Oba Solomon Olugbenga Oloyede, the Olusin of Isanlu Isin. The title had generated significant misconceptions, which threatened the unity of the Isin Traditional Council and raised concerns of possible disunity within the community.
During the meeting, all Isin Obas expressed their unwavering support for the administration of Kwara State’s Executive Governor, Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, administration emphasizing their collective commitment to ensuring the success of his governance. And reaffirmed their commitment to ensuring the success of their son administration, Honorable Benjamin Lanre Jolayemi.
The council also reached a unanimous decision regarding the contested title, After thorough discussions, it was agreed that the title of “Agbaakin of Isin Land” had no official standing and was thus formally revoked. This joint decision reflected the council’s desire to maintain harmony and avoid any further division.
The meeting concluded on a positive note, with the Isin Traditional Council reaffirming their commitment to maintaining peace and unity among all members.
