The Initial Language Legacy and Culture (ILLEC) has recognized NupekoTV Lafiagi with an Award of Appreciation for its exceptional efforts in promoting and preserving the Nupe Language.

This prestigious award underscores NupekoTV’s dedication to safeguarding the cultural heritage of the Nupe people by fostering awareness and pride in their native language.

The award ceremony, graced by prominent dignitaries, included the Etsu Nupe, Alh. (Dr) Yahaya Abubakar CFR, who was commended for his enduring support for the Nupe Language. Other honorees included Governor Umaru Mohammed Bago, Turakin Nupe; Dr. (Mrs) Aishatu Gogo Ndayako, Permanent Secretary of Ecological Matters; Pharm Yahaya Mayaki, Mayaki Nupe; and Dr. Abubakar Abdullahi Kuso, Dan Wadata Nupe, among others, for their impactful contributions to the language’s promotion.

Adamu Idris Manarakis, founder and director of ILLEC, expressed gratitude to all awardees for their dedication to preserving the Nupe heritage. He specifically praised NupekoTV Lafiagi for its commitment to sustaining the Nupe Language through its work.

The ceremony celebrated the rich cultural legacy of the Nupe people, reinforcing the importance of preserving indigenous languages for future generations.
