A team from the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) visited the Ikirun College of Health Technology for a crucial resource inspection and accreditation process, yesterday.
The visit is part of NBTE’s mandate to assess facilities, staff strength, and curriculum compliance before granting full approval for academic programs.
Leading the NBTE delegation was Baklisu M. Daku, the Director of the New TVET Institution Registration Department (NTIRD). The team was warmly received by key officials of the institution, including the founder, Mr. Salaudeen Oyewale; the Chairman of the Governing Board, Eng. (Dr.) Adeleke Olawuyi; the Acting Registrar, Mr. Abdullahi Adeniyi, among others.
During the inspection, the NBTE team evaluated the college’s infrastructure, laboratories, classrooms, and learning materials to ensure they meet national standards for health technology education.
The officials also engaged in discussions with faculty members and administrative staff to assess the institution’s readiness to offer accredited programmes.
Speaking on the importance of the exercise, the NBTE team leader emphasized that accreditation is a key step toward ensuring quality education in technical and vocational institutions across the country.
The visit marks a significant milestone for Ikirun College of Health Technology as it moves closer to full accreditation and recognition by the regulatory body.
The college management expressed optimism about the outcome of the inspection and reiterated its commitment to providing high-quality training for health professionals.
