The Elder’s caucus of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Ifedayo local government has exposed the clandestine moves by Hon. Funmilayo Olasehinde to rejoin the party from the state, noting that she’s not needed at the moment.
The Elder’s caucus in a press release stated that the likes of Hon. Olasehinde needs to be told that era of jumping up and down has gone in Osun PDP.
The body noted that when the party was struggling to get a life, Hon. Funmilayo Olasehinde packed her bags and baggages moved to the ruling party then, now the opposition party who has been depleted to nothing in Osun State.
“We recall how we called her into a meeting then, gave her reasons why she shouldn’t leave the party at the time, she lambasted all of us, went on radio to denigrate the party and leaders of the party in the state.
“We can’t forget so soon how she talked ill of the Adelekes, most especially, our candidate then, who is now the Governor. She described all the leaders in the State as men of no honour.
The Elder’s caucus said whatever the achievements, either politically or materially, of Hon. Olasehinde today, PDP made it happen, stressing that it was very bad seeing someone like her to denigrate the party who made her.
“We, the elders of the party in Ifedayo are saying unequivocally that we don’t need her in the PDP for now. She should stay with her new friends in APC. Contrary to the impressions She gives to outsiders, Hon Funmilayo is a spent force who has no value to add to our party any longer, She only intends to take advantage of the success of our performing Governor to rebuild her mismanaged and shattered political fortune. From her antecedent, she would not mind to weaken and polarize the party structure as it is today to achieve her objectives. We know the pains and sacrifices we had to give before rebuilding the deliberately ruined party structure she mockingly abandoned to join APC.
“Though, we are aware of your clandestine moves to rejoin the party by lobbying some of our leaders in the state, but we want to appeal to our leaders to know the type of persons to reabsorb into the party.Hon Funmilayo Olasehinde is an opportunist whose antics should not be condoned.
“When the likes of Dotun Babayemi and co tried to bring the party down in Osun, we knew how our leaders in the state dealt with him by sending him away from the party. These are individuals who so much believe in their personal ambition and the moment they are unable to get it, they start causing disunity in the party. The peace we are enjoying in our party today should not be truncated through some individuals who have left the party when they were supposed to be with the party to rescue it then.
