Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has been thrown into mourning following the death of his elder brother, Engineer Sunday Makinde.
The sad news was confirmed in a statement on Friday in Ibadan by the Governor’s Special Adviser on Media, Sulaimon Olanrewaju. Sunday Makinde passed away in the early hours of Friday at the age of 65.
The announcement was made by another sibling, Olumuyiwa Makinde, who is the Bada Olubadan of Ibadanland and Head of the Aigbofa Family of Oja’ba, Ibadan.
“With a heavy heart, I announce the passing of my elder brother, Engr. Sunday Makinde, to eternal glory today, Friday, 24th January 2025. His sudden death occurred at his Ibadan residence at 3:20 am today,” Olumuyiwa stated.
The late Sunday Makinde is survived by his siblings, including Governor Seyi Makinde, as well as children and grandchildren.
