The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has intensified its campaign against suspected vandals accused of stealing sewage manhole covers in Abuja.

This was revealed in a statement by Lere Olayinka, Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and New Media to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, on Sunday in Abuja.

According to Wike, efforts are underway to apprehend the vandals’ collaborators, particularly those purchasing the stolen manhole covers. He stated that relevant authorities have been directed to take decisive action to curb vandalism, adding that the public will be updated as progress is made.

The minister decried the actions of individuals removing sewage manhole covers from highways and selling them, describing the practice as a serious threat to public safety.

Wike assured residents that the FCT Administration is committed to taking all necessary measures to identify and prosecute those responsible for these acts of sabotage.
