Dr. Olorede Jimoh Olatunji, the Head of Strategic Communication and Media Studies in the Federal Polytechnic Offa (FEDPOFFA), Kwara State, has advocated for the establishment of a Microfinance Bank in Iragbiji.

The event, graced by dignitaries including the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), and HRM Aragbiji of Iragbiji, Oba Abdur-Rasheed Ayotunde Olabomi Odundun IV, reinforced the importance of innovative strategies for community empowerment.

During his keynote address, the guest speaker highlighted the transformative potential of a Microfinance Bank in fostering economic growth and self-reliance among Iragbiji residents.

In addition to this, he outlined other actionable recommendations, such as:

Addressing local challenges through organized community efforts.
Launching community-based projects to meet specific needs.
Establishing cooperatives to offer economic advantages for residents.
Conducting advocacy campaigns to raise awareness on key issues.

Building partnerships with organizations and government agencies.
Forming coalitions to amplify the community’s voice.
Supporting entrepreneurship to bolster local businesses.
Mobilizing resources and fundraising for community projects.
Creating job opportunities to reduce unemployment.

Dr. Olorede emphasized that these initiatives, when implemented collaboratively, could lead to significant socio-economic advancements for Iragbiji.

The programme, which featured cultural performances, culminated in a vibrant celebration led by HRM Aragbiji himself, who offered royal blessings and joined attendees in a symbolic dance to mark the occasion.
