Chief Fatai Adebayo, Baale of Sie-Olorunsogo, Oro Kingdom; Chief Sunmonu Alabi Subair, Baale of Olorunsogo Community, Oro Kingdom; Chief Odeyemi Kayode Olanrewaju, Oluode (head of hunters) of Olorunsogo Community, Oro Kingdom; and other residents of benefiting communities have applauded Nigeria’s Deputy Senate Leader and Senator representing Kwara South Senatorial District, Arc. Lola Ashiru, for his transformative electrification projects.
The senator is spearheading the development of an 11KV power line and the provision of a 500KVA transformer in Sie-Olorunsogo, a community in Irepodun Local Government that has endured years of power outage.
The project is seen as a major intervention to alleviate the long-standing challenges of the affected residents.
In addition, Senator Ashiru’s office has announced plans to distribute 500KVA transformers to selected communities across Kwara South, a move aimed at enhancing the quality of life and boosting economic activities through reliable electricity supply.
Speaking on the initiative, Chief Fatai Adebayo described the project as a landmark achievement for the community, emphasizing its potential to spur development.
“This is a historic intervention. We are immensely grateful to Senator Ashiru for addressing one of our most pressing needs,” he said.
Chief Sunmonu Alabi Subair commended the senator’s proactive leadership and commitment to the welfare of his constituents. “This electrification project is a testament to the senator’s dedication to our collective growth,” he stated.
Chief Odeyemi Kayode Olanrewaju highlighted the transformational impact of the project, expressing optimism about the community’s future. “With this initiative, Olorunsogo is set to witness unprecedented development,” he remarked.
Other residents also shared their appreciation. Ms. Mujidat Arowoduye, a resident of Oro Kingdom, described the project as life-changing, while Mr. Taye Majeobaje of Surulere-Oro Kingdom noted that consistent electricity would invigorate local businesses.
Also, Mr. Abdulrahman Ajala Araokanmi, Vice Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oro Ward 1, lauded the senator’s commitment to grassroots development, calling it a model for effective governance.
Senator Ashiru, reflecting on the project’s significance, stated, “This electrification project will have a transformative impact on these communities, empowering them to thrive and grow.”
